Music & WOrship Ministry
Biblical, corporate worship is a vital part of your walk with the Lord. The sole audience of our worship is God, and we strive to worship in “Spirit and Truth” (John 4:24) each week as we utilize the various talents of our congregation.
The way North Oxford approaches worship is three-fold: “singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in [our] hearts to God” (Colossians 3:16). The last phrase of that verse, “with gratitude in [our] hearts to God,” cannot be emphasized enough. It is insufficient to just sing, as singing is hollow without the proper heart condition. Worship in the Spirit should reflect the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
There are many ways for all ages to plug into our Music & Worship Ministry:
- Praise Team for adults, consisting of instrumentalists (guitars, drums, keyboards, piano, orchestra, etc…) and vocalists
- Worship Choir for adults
- Children’s Choir for children K – 6th grade (Seasonal)

Praise Team
The purpose of the North Oxford Praise Team is to help create both an atmosphere of worship and an environment that facilitates congregational worship. Our Praise Team is a collection of musicians from various backgrounds. Some are classically trained while others are naturally gifted. The tie that binds us is our love for the Lord and our heart for worship.
The Praise Team utilizes a variety of instruments as needed. We also have a rotation of vocalists each Sunday who lead alongside our Worship Pastor.
During this season, the Praise Team rehearses on Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and there is a sound check at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Worship Choir
“Come, let us shout joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation! Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout triumphantly to Him in song.” (Psalm 95:1-3)
The Worship Choir plays a key role in leading our congregation in praise and worship each Sunday morning. They also present special seasonal worship and evangelistic concerts during the year. If you have a heart for worship then we have a place for you! The North Oxford Worship Choir provides dynamic opportunities for you to use your gifts in service to the Lord.
The choir is open to any believer that has interest, no matter your level of choral training or experience. In the Worship Choir, you will develop lasting friendships. You will grow spiritually, as you learn music and the theology that supports it. You will be surrounded by passionate people that love the Lord and live to serve Him. Consequently, you may see that you increase your musical skill level, as you spend the rehearsal hours honing your voice for His glory.
The Worship Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Minton Choir Suite (Room C-205) on the second floor above the Nursery/Creative Learning Center. If you are interested in joining the choir, please complete this FORM. You may also join us for any Wednesday rehearsal!
Media and Production
Media and production is an integral part of the worship at North Oxford. From mixing the sound to running cable and monitors, from lighting to video projection, from our campus at County Road 101 to various televisions and radios in and around Oxford, the production team helps connect the platform and pulpit to the North Oxford congregation.
North Oxford’s media and production team is always looking to add new faces.
There are several opportunities to serve. While it would be beneficial, you do not need any knowledge of the systems we use.
